What Our Partners Have to Say About Us
Our motto is supporting you to support your business
Sarah O'Reilly was looking for a change; she had been struck with illness, had a new baby and just experienced death of a close friend. Leaving her 10 year profession in corporate PA and Executive Assistance behind she decided to take control of her career and life and start her own company.
PA on the Way initially began as simply a freelance secretarial firm. It was not long before Sarah identified a hole in the market and a fantastic opportunity. PA on the Way now is a remote total business support company targeted specifically at small businesses.
"As the requests from potential clients have come in I have managed to find casual consultants to support PA on the Way and ultimately diversify what we can offer. My goal now is to become a one-stop shop for all businesses requirements," says O'Reilly.
As the company grows as does the amount of skills they have to offer. The team consists of three legal specialists a web designer, IT specialists and other specialists in secretarial support. All contractors from PA on the Way have had years of experience in their industries and are simply looking for flexibility in hours.
For this reason PA on the Way can offer great service that is totally flexible to suit your needs. Most of the services can be conducted in the base office with correspondence back to you with status reports and general feedback by email phone or any means you desire.
"Email, phone, whatever the client wants. We have a client in Canberra for whom we did a fact finding trip to start with. Now it's all email and phone, and when they need us physically in person again we'll go down. It's totally flexible," O'Reilly says.
Some of the basic services include; PA and Secretarial Services, Event Organisation, Bookkeeping, Paralegal Specialists, VIP Care, Travel Management, Virtual Office Management, Personal and Corporate Requirements, IT Solutions, IT Support and Offsite Data Backup.
Event organisation, secretarial support and IT support are PA on the Ways three most popular services.
Sarah herself has had a huge amount of experience working in the events industry, as a Functions Manager. Along her with team PA on the Way can offer anything from total event management, to sourcing difficult suppliers or even promotions and advertising. Currently the team is working on bringing Netherlands based company and project, Event Conneqion to Australia to hold one of their famous children's painting events. Here the group hold competitions for children to enter their artworks to have them potentially immortalised in oil paints.
"It's still in the planning phase, we need to hash out the details about funding but overall it's a great exercise that promotes self confidence in children," says O'Reilly.
Secretarial support consists of total office management and can be completed both in house and from a remote location. Sarah finds that most clients prefer the remote office option as it means there is less clutter in the usually smaller offices.
"We don't lose time travelling…and we don't have to take up space in their offices. Not all small businesses have a lot of space, so by having a remote service we work from our own office with our own hours, we simply adhere to their deadlines. With many behind the scenes projects it doesn't really matter when the work is done as long as it makes the deadline," O'Reilly says.
Within the secretarial support service there are a range of tasks that the team at PA on the Way can help you with on an ad hoc or permanent basis. Such services include; phone answering and support, data entry, typing services, dictaphone (digital and analogue) transcription, copy typing, composing business letters, mail merge documents, database building, resume preparation and other basic office tasks.
"One of the more interesting requests we've had came really early on. An 86 year old woman asked me to type out her life story and she had quite a story!" O'Reilly says.
IT support and solutions is another area of the company that has been growing in scope due to huge demand. Sarah identified that in smaller companies, managers and staff don't have the time, expertise or money to labour over the technology needed to get their businesses running. It is for this reason that she sourced Peter. Peter is the resident IT expert and can assist with issues ranging from, why doesn't my computer turn on? To, how do I upload information onto my website?
Prices are all variable according to amount of hours worked and the project itself. Sarah is happy to negotiate to help accommodate your business and your budget.
"At this stage we want to keep as cost effective as possible. As we build the departments and the business we want to have work coming through rather than be making excessive profits", she says.
